New England College strives to maintain the well-being of every student within our community. Providing a reliable and economical health insurance program for students is one way in which we address this goal. The Plan consists of 2 separate policies. The policy represented by Plan 1 provides coverage for Accident- Only and the policy represented by Plan 2 provides Student Health Insurance coverage for Accident, Sickness and Preventive Services.
Plan 1: Accident Only: Plan 1 is mandatory and all eligible students are automatically enrolled. Accident benefits are provided for incurred eligible Medical Expenses up to $2,000, payable at 100% of Usual and Customary for Covered Medical Expenses incurred as inpatient or outpatient, as a result of a Covered Accident until the termination date or any extension of benefits of the policy, subject to all policy provisions.
Plan 2: Accident, Sickness, and Preventive Services: For more complete coverage, the college provides access to a Student Health Insurance Plan which pays eligible Usual and Customary expenses incurred for covered accidents, sickness or preventive services according to the schedule of benefits. The cost of the Annual Plan is $1,300 and provides coverage through the academic year and summer months (9/1/14 thru 8/31/15). For new spring students, the Spring Term cost is $876, and provides coverage from 1/1/15 thru 8/31/15.
All full-time students are automatically enrolled in Plan 2 . If proof of medical insurance is provided via the on-line Waiver Form, (click on the “Waive Insurance” link on the left of this web page) by the waiver deadline, the cost and coverage of Plan 2 may be waived. On-line Waiver Forms for the Annual Policy cannot be accepted after September 12, 2014. On-line Waiver Forms for the Spring Term cannot be accepted after January 26, 2015. Students who do not complete the on-line Waiver Form by the deadline, will automatically be enrolled in Plan 2.
