A. Your Delta Dental plan will be effective on the first day of the month you select. You may choose an effective date of up to three months in the future. Back to top
Q. How long are the rates guaranteed?
A. Your rates are guaranteed for one year from your initial effective date. Back to top
Q. Are all dental services covered?
A. While many of the available options cover most of the commonly performed dental services, no dental plan is designed to cover all services. For example, Options 4-6 do not cover orthodontic services, and Options 7-9 do not cover major restorative or orthodontic services. All of the plans include coverage for diagnostic/preventive and basic restorative services. Please read the plan brochure carefully. Back to top
Q. May I enroll my dependents?
A. Yes, you may enroll your eligible dependents. Please refer to the plan brochure for more information. Back to top
Q. How does the deductible work?
A. The deductible (your portion of the benefit payment) must be paid just once in your lifetime before any basic or major restorative services will be covered under your plan. The deductible never applies to diagnostic/preventive or orthodontic services. Back to top
Q. Why are there waiting periods and how do they work?
A. The waiting periods represent the length of time you must be enrolled in the plan before certain services will be covered. For example, you must be enrolled for six months and meet your deductible before the plan will provide coverage for a root canal or a tooth extraction. The waiting periods prevent enrollees from receiving immediate coverage for costly procedures and then dropping the plan. Back to top
